TORONTO - The request for proposals stage has closed for teams to submit their bids to design, build and finance nine new detachments for phase two of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Modernization project.

Following a fair, open and transparent request for qualifications process that began in January 2017, three teams-Bird Capital Limited Partnership (Bird Capital), DBF Pomerleau Team and EllisDon Infrastructure Justice-were invited to respond to a request for proposals in July 2017.

Over the next several months, Infrastructure Ontario, the OPP and the Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services will evaluate the proposals, select a preferred bidder and then negotiate a final contract. A successful bidder is expected to be announced in mid-2018. A fairness monitor is overseeing the entire procurement process.
